The new Porsche Center in Rome, developed for Hauswagen Srl, was created as a contemporary space dedicated to the sale and presentation of the German brand’s vehicles. The project interprets Porsche’s architectural standards through a building with a strong visual identity, where the quality of the envelope, the attention to finishes and performance efficiency contribute to creating a representative, functional and recognizable environment.
The articulation of the volumes and the use of different cladding solutions characterize the façades, enhancing the architectural composition and distinguishing the building’s various functional areas.
Isopan’s contribution
For the construction of the envelope, Isopan supplied integrated solutions for the façades and roof, selected to meet the aesthetic, technical, performance and installation requirements of the project.
For approximately 2,400 m² of surface area, the ADDWind ventilated façade system was adopted. The system consists of ISOCOP insulating panels with a rigid PIR polyurethane foam core and an external ventilated skin. It was developed with different finishes, helping to define the high architectural value of the new Porsche Center.
The main façade section features an external cladding made of aluminium composite panels with FR fire reaction classification and PVDF RAL 9006 finish. Cantori Alluminio Srl was involved in the design of the elements for the central portion, made of sheet metal with double curving, in order to meet the building’s specific geometric and compositional requirements.
The surface completing the side and rear areas instead features an external skin in black corrugated steel sheet, a choice that gives rhythm and depth to the façade.
From a technical perspective, one of the project’s distinctive features is the installation of the insulating panels vertically, overlapped using the overlapping technique. The ventilated façade was also installed with Isopan ARKWALL® point brackets, adjustable in three directions, allowing precise management of the positioning and alignment of the external cladding.
For the roof, covering an area of approximately 1,550 m², the Isodeck PVSteel solution was selected, with PIR insulation and a thickness of 150 mm.
Flexibility, speed and performance
Isopan solutions were chosen first and foremost for their design flexibility, which made it possible to combine different materials, geometries and finishes within a single envelope project. The ADDWind system enabled the integration of insulation with a customized ventilated façade, adapting to the architectural identity required by the Porsche brand.
The prefabrication of the elements and dry installation systems also supported fast installation, facilitating the organization of site activities and ensuring execution precision even with complex cladding solutions.
The thermal insulation performance of the panels was also a key factor: the façades made with ISOCOP achieve a thermal transmittance of 0.28 W/m²K, while the Isodeck PVSteel roofing solution achieves a value of 0.15 W/m²K. These characteristics are complemented by B-s1,d0 fire reaction performance and system certifications, which made it possible to meet the technical and quality requirements set out for the project.
The new Porsche Center in Rome is therefore an example of how industrialized solutions, envelope performance and aesthetic customization can come together to shape an efficient, highly distinctive building, consistent with the identity of an international brand.
